Veteran Jewish community professional Jonathan Feldstein shared to “B-Alert News” host Bishop Leon Benjamin how fulfilling it is to taste and live prophecies about Israel, which the Jews believe to be the “Promised Land.”
“I could taste the prophecy because we had the experience of living in the land, as God promised that was going to be restored and breathe again,” Feldstein said during the Sept. 12 episode of “B-Alert News” on Brighteon.TV.
Despite being a dual citizen and a resident of Israel, Feldstein reiterated that he will always be a proud American. His father, a first-generation Israeli, was born in Israel. His uncles and aunts on his father’s side all went to New York after the war.
The bishop of Virginia-based New Life Harvest Church related his guest’s life to a passage from the book of the Prophet Jeremiah. “I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries whither I have driven them and will bring them again to their folds, and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, said the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:3-4)
Feldstein concurred with Benjamin’s reflection, saying that they were back once again in the Holy Land after they were scattered.
“Watching [my grandchildren] play with dozens of other Jewish Israeli children yelling; screaming; screeching all good things; and falling down and getting hurt in Hebrew, in the restored language of the Bible, that’s a year in the land.” he said. “It’s a privilege of being a grandfather, raising children and now grandchildren in the land. That’s the fulfillment of prophecy.”
Feldstein, who also writes for Townhall, has been endeavoring to build bridges between Jews and Christians through his Genesis 123 Foundation. He recently organized a fundraiser in aid of flood victims in Pakistan, a Muslim-majority country.
According to a Sept. 11 op-ed he wrote, Pakistan has been devastated by catastrophic flooding brought on by intense monsoon rains, with one third of the country being underwater. He also noted that more than 33 million Pakistanis have been affected and the death rate – including almost 500 children – is exceeding 1,300 people.
“The humanitarian situation is grave and deteriorating rapidly, with many being pushed to the brink of survival as the disaster unfolds. The threat of disease spreading is rampant, risking killing thousands more,” he wrote.
Feldstein explained that Genesis 123 Foundation “is not just committed to being a blessing to people in need in the developed world.” He cited the case of Pakistan, which is one of many countries “that are technically at war with Israel and do not recognize its right to exist.”
“Aid provided is being targeted to make the biggest impact possible through friends on the ground. Not through Pakistani organizations which prioritize the dominant Muslim society, but among and through Christians directly. Because of the sensitivity of the lack of relations between Pakistan and Israel – Pakistani passports are printed with a statement that they are not valid for travel to Israel – much of this relief has to be done under the radar. But relief efforts are underway nonetheless,” he wrote in his column.
Aside from Pakistan, Feldstein told Benjamin that the foundation most recently provided hundreds of pounds of baby formula from Israel to churches in the U.S., where there’s been a severe shortage of this basic staple in the diet of millions of babies.
