The fighting between Hamas and Israel in northern Gaza is intensifying after Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) laid to waste another residential area, killing 55 Palestinians and injuring hundreds of others.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported a total of 55 deaths and 192 injuries “in seven massacres of families in the last 24 hours.” The attacks occurred in Jabalia’s Nazla area and in the vicinity of the Muscat Clinic in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood.
Among the casualties were three children who got caught on the fray of an Israeli drone attack on a health clinic that was conducting a polio vaccination campaign in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
“84 Palestinians have been confirmed killed in the attack [on Jabalia refugee camp] including 50 children.”

The situation is so severe for Palestinian civilians still living in northern Gaza that the United Nations (UN) issued a statement.
“The entire Palestinian population in North Gaza is at imminent risk of dying from disease, famine, and violence,” said UN aid chief Joyce Msuya, who heads up UNICEF, the World Food Programme (WFP), and other aid groups, adding that the situation is “apocalyptic” for those caught in the fray of the war.
“Humanitarian aid cannot keep up with the scale of the needs due to the access constraints. Basic, life-saving goods are not available. Humanitarians are not safe to do their work and are blocked by Israeli forces and by insecurity from reaching people in need.”
Over the weekend, the IDF announced the deployment of a combat team from the Kfir Brigade to the Jabalia refugee camp, which has been under heavy fire over the past several weeks as the IDF clashes with the Qassam Brigades, which are trying to get Israel out of Gaza.

On X / Twitter, someone called the images and video footage seen above “heartbreaking and unimaginable,” adding that the world should not “turn a blind eye to this suffering.”
“Innocent lives deserve protection and peace,” this user added.
Another tweeted that very soon the entire U.S. military will be in the Middle East trying to protect Israel as it continues waging war on its neighbors.
“U.S. Secretary Austin ordered the deployment of additional ballistic missile defense destroyer ships, fighter squadron and tanker aircraft, and several U.S. Air Force B-52 long-range strike bombers to the region,” reads a retweeted news update from over the weekend.
Others lamented the continued loss of life in Gaza while the rest of the world carries on with business as usual.
“The whole world is listening and watching but no action to stop it,” one said. “What a hypocritical and corrupt world, everyone included.”
“Sad,” expressed another. “The loss of lives continues while international agencies, the Security Council and the world, remain silent. Every loss of life is a failure of humanity. The world cannot continue to turn a blind eye.”
“When that many children are killed, it is not an accident,” wrote another. “It is because Israel is targeting children to wipe them out.”
